Celebrate Freedom Guest Speaker
We were so lucky to have Sargent Knapp come to Wooster today. He is a Marine and came to visit with our kiddos about his job. He shared with them how important it is to be respectful of our Country and how lucky we are to live in such a wonderful place.
Everyone was impressed!!
He shared with us some of the traditions from the Marines.
The symbol is very important. It is on his hat and all of the buttons on his
uniform. The symbol has an eagle, anchor, and globe.
He talked with us about the importance of being respectful
while saying the Pledge of Allegiance and practiced it with us!!
AND...... He brought his SWORD!!!
He was nice enough to show us some of the drills!
It was very neat!!
We had lots of questions for him. :)
He even posed for pictures!!!

To kick off our
Celebrate Freedom week, we discuss our Constitution and decided to
write our very own Class Constitution. We discussed how to be a good citizen at home and at school. The kiddos told me what they wanted to be included in our Constitution and I typed it for us. We all took turns signing it.

Human Body
We will be talking about the human body for the next two weeks! The kids have been having a blast learning about our Amazing Bodies!! Today we traced some of the kiddos to make an outline of the body. We are going to use these to label our body parts as we learn about them:) We will be learning about the brain, heart, lungs, bones, and muscles.
We had a special visitor.
This was a great way to kick off our Science Unit!!

Counting Collections
Friday we got to do our first Counting Collections. The students worked with a partner to determine how many objects are in their collections. They were not told how to count. After counting the students shared with the class how many objects they had and how they counted. This was a great way for the students to learn from each other.
Hunter and Ashlyn T. figured out that if they put 10 beads in each cup they could count by 10's!!
Math
Here are some pictures from last week's math lesson. We were practicing recognizing amounts and writing the corresponding numbers. The students took turns rolling the dice and writing the number on their boards. They then got to try and throw the bean bag on their number. We had lots of fun.
